What is ECI?

ECI ( East County Invitational ) is a 2 day, Saturday - Sunday event open to all Stingrays swimmers.  The Stingrays swim as a team against approximately 10 other teams.  Your family picks the events your child will swim on one or both days.  All participating famlies are required to volunteer (this includes board members, core members, families of only 15/ups, and volunteer job buy out families) and volunteering at ECI does NOT count as one of your four required meet volunteer jobs.

 

When - Saturday, July 13th -Sunday, July 14th, 2024

 

Location:  Freedom High School (new location), 1050 Neroly Rd, Oakley, CA 94561

 

Entry Fees:

  • $8.00 registration/splash fee plus $6.00 per individual event swum
  • Team will pay for relays ($12 per relay)
  • Your swimmer may participate in as many events as they would like to for their age group over the two days
  • --NO REFUNDS--

 

Relay Teams - Swimmers may be entered into relays only if they are swimming an individual event on the same day as the relay and there are enough swimmers in that gender/age group to make up a relay team.  The team will cover the costs of any relays.  If you can not stay until the late afternoon, please note this on the registration form so the coaches do not assign your swimmer to a relay team.  

 

Registration Opens:  Monday, June 10th

Please print this form.   If you do not have access to a printer, a few hardcopies will be available at the pool, closer to the actual event.  Fill out the registration form and place it with payment (either check or pay via PayPal to treasurer@bsrswim.org).  If paying via PayPal, make sure to select "Friends and Family" and make a note with "swimer name, ECI"  Indicate on registration form how you are paying.

Saturday 

  • Kickboard Races for Littles
  • 7/8 & 9/10 IM, 15-18 50 Free
  • All age groups: Fly, Back, Medley Relay

Sunday

  • 11 & up IM
  • All age groups: Breast, Free, Free Relay
  • Parent Relay, Coach Relay

 

Volunteer Work Assignments -  All families must volunteer at this  meet.  Depending on the number of families we have, you may be assigned to work one or both days (you will only be assigned to work on days your swimmer is competing).  Please check in with Krista Heredia on each day that you work to get credit for your shift.  No shows will be charged $150 to the credit card we have on file.

Benicia is responsible for filling one timer chair in lanes 4 and 8 for the duration of the meet.

 

Athlete Check In:  Historically, all swimmers had to check in by 8:30AM with meet officials (there was a check in table).  If your swimmer is only swimming in the afternoon, and you will not be there for warmups or 8:30 check in, please let Krista Heredia know so we can make sure your athlete is checked in.    

 

Warm Up Times -  8:30-8:50--we are the last team to warm up, with Pinole

 

Warm Up Lanes - Pinole lanes 1-5, Benicia lanes 6-8 AND the warmup lane

 

Team Camp- Team camps will be marked on Saturday morning; we do not have an assigned camp yet

If anyone wants to decorate team camp, there is a decorating contest and the team with the most spirit gets $100 off of their team registration fees for next year.  

 

Snack Bar: Yes

Coaches:  Continental breakfast will be in the coaches' area; drinks and snacks will be available all day

Coaches (up to 4) and Stroke and Turn Officials:  Meal tickets will be provided for use at the snack bar.  

 

Meet Programs will be available for a nominal fee at the meet.  A meet sheet will not be emailed out prior to the event. 

Program Dedication Ad:  Fill out this form and submit it by July 8th to be included in the meet program.

Zoom Photography will be present taking photos. Register with them on Saturday morning. 

Rubber Duck Race

  • Will occur right before the parent relay
  • Individual duck entries $5; 5 ducks for $20

 

Parent Relay:  Feeling strong and want to get a feel for what our swimmers go through?  You can put together a relay of 4 parent swimmers and we will cheer you on as you swim!  This event will take place at the end of the meet on Sunday!
