Hercules Meet Results

Benicia Stingrays

Great Job Stingrays!

We beat Hercules!!!  Last year Hercules placed second at League Meet to Martinez.  Yesterday we beat them!!!  Way to go Stingrays.  It was a close one, 349 to 346.  This is the difference of literally one swimmer winning a second-place finish for the team.  This is why it is so important that we have all swimmers commit to swimming in meets!!

For those of you unfamiliar with swim meet scoring, an individual first-place finish (has to be overall across all of the heats, not just a heat winner) earns 5 points for the team, second place 3 points, and third place 1 point.  Relay team winners earn 6 points and second-place relays earn 3 points.  You can see that relays matter and swimmer numbers matter!  The more swimmers we have, the better our chances are.

We had 3 County Qualifiers today!!!  Mila Roldan (6) started off the great day by qualifying in freestyle.  Valerie Vargas (10) continued her successful hunt for gold by adding butterfly to her already earned gold times in IM, Free, and Back.  And Mason Godden (14) got his first individual gold time in backstroke.  All of our swimmers looked strong today!

Ignore the fact that the PDF says the date is 7/16/2022 and that the overall meet results say Martinez vs Ahi.  The actual results are correct.  Must be a glitch in Hercules' system.
