Martinez Meet Sheet and Meet Info
It's finally arrived; it's what we have been waiting for all year; it's our first real meet of the season!
Unfortunately, Coach Mariska will not be present at the meet tomorrow. She is recovering from a planned minor surgery and just needs another couple of days to heal before she is allowed back on the pool deck. Our assistant coaches will be present and will do a great job of coaching/managing our swimmers with the assistance of our junior coaches.
Location: Rankin Aquatic Center, 100 Buckley Street, Martinez CA
Parking: There is a parking lot at the pool with additional parking above at the park. Any overflow will have to park on the street. Please obey the no parking signs and red zones. Do not block residential driveways. The police will patrol the area and ticket/tow offenders.
Time:
- Warmups: Martinez 7:30-7:55AM; Benicia 8:00-8:25AM
- Meet starts promptly at 8:30am
- Meet ends at 11:30AM, pool deck must be vacated by 11:45AM.
All swimmers must be able to swim across the pool unaccompanied by a coach; if your 6/under will not get in the water, the junior coaches can not jump in to encourage them.
Volunteers: Make sure to check in with our coordinators, Colin and Wendy Buresh as soon as you arrive at the pool.
- No cell phones or cameras are allowed behind the blocks.
- If you no show for your volunteer job, you will be billed $150 for your missed job and this must be repaid before your swimmer can participate in future meets or practices.
Ribbons: Awarded 1st - 8th place for 10 and unders only; Heat Winner Ribbons will be awarded up to age 12.
Team Camp: Visiting teams may set up along the north and east fence (from the area of the shallow entry steps to the diving board. Due to the frequency of high winds, pop-ups and tents must be anchored or tethered.
Shallow entry steps, play pool, and diving well are off limits during meets
Snack Bar: A variety of hot & cold breakfast & lunch items and beverages are available. Cash, CC, Venmo, Zelle are accepted.
Shepherds: Parents of 8/unders, please help our shepherds by getting your swimmers to them about 15 minutes before your swimmer's event is about to start. Parents and Swimmers 9/up, it is your job to get to the blocks on time.
Meet Sheet: It is recommended to print the Meet Program and bring a sharpie marker with you. Highlight your swimmer's name in the program and mark up their arm with their event #, heat #, lane #, and relay position (if applicable). - 9/10 Boys Relays: There is a change due to a swimmer withdrawing from the meet. Please note the updated relay entries and disregard what is in the actual meet program and Meet Entries List.

- PLEASE make note of combined events!!! Do not have your swimmer miss a race because it was combined and they did not know!
- Relays: Combined boys/girls for each age group. For 8/under Relays, dives are not allowed on the shallow end of the pool....these swimmers will have in water starts.

- Breaststroke 6/under: Events 37/38 are combined boys and girls
- Breaststroke 7/8: Event 39 heat 2 girls swims with Event 40 heat 1 boys
- Butterfly 6/under: Events 49/50 are combined boys and girls
- Backstroke 7/8: Event 63 heat 4 girls swims with Evant 64 heat 1boys
