What Is a County or Honor/Medal Time?

The County Championship Meet is the final meet of the season. It is a huge, all-weekend meet in which swimmers must qualify to participate. Approximately 50 other teams from Solano, Contra Costa, and Napa Counties participate in County Championships.
We abide by all guidelines set in place by the County Committee.
To qualify for County, swimmers must swim a "Gold" time. Gold times are set for age and gender in each stroke by the County Committee. Swimmers can earn Gold times in both individual and relay events.
In addition, the Stingrays recognize other "medal" times. These include Honor, Silver, and Bronze times. As swimmers improve their strokes, they can strive to earn their medal times. Swimming a "medal" time (other than gold) does not qualify a swimmer for County Championships, but is a great way for swimmers to set goals and track their growth over the season.
