What Is a County or Honor/Medal Time?
- The County Championship Meet is the final meet of the season. It is a huge, all-weekend meet in which swimmers must qualify to participate. Approximately 50 other teams from Solano, Contra Costa, and Napa Counties participate in County Championships.
- We abide by all guidelines set in place by the County Committee.
- To qualify for County, swimmers must swim a "Gold" time. Gold times are set for age and gender in each stroke by the County Committee. Swimmers can earn Gold times in both individual and relay events.
- In addition, the Stingrays recognize other "medal" times. These include Honor, Silver, and Bronze times. As swimmers improve their strokes, they can strive to earn their medal times. Swimming a "medal" time (other than gold) does not qualify a swimmer for County Championships, but is a great way for swimmers to set goals and track their growth over the season.
