We have a bunch of random updates for you.

 

Awards Ceremony

  • We still need some volunteers, particularly to work the fundraising table. Please sign up for a shift here if you can work on Sunday.  

 

Medal Times

  • New this season, we will present swimmers with bronze, silver, honor, and gold time bands in their award bags.  If your swimmer achieved a medal time, look out for these super cool bands!  
  • What is a medal time?  Most of us are familiar that to swim at County Championships, a swimmer has to swim a "gold" or County Qualifying time.  We recognize these gold-time swimmers with gold caps so that they stand out at meets. But, we also like to recognize those swimmers who are working hard but haven't quite reached that County Qualifier level yet.  Here is a link to our medal times that swimmers can strive towards as the season progresses!  Next season, as medal times are met, swimmers will get new bands to recognize their accomplishments!  

 

End-of-Season Survey

  • If you have yet to fill out the parent survey for spring/summer 2024, please take the time to fill out the survey.  We value parent input so that we can keep improving!

 

Parent CPA On The Team??

  • As you may be aware, our board is 100% volunteer-based.  We do it because we love the team and we love the sport.  And, with that, comes a lot of winging it!  We are not experts and we learn on the fly.
  • As the team gets larger and we earn more money through fundraising, we need help managing this.  Are there any CPA's or bookkeepers on the team who might be able to help us out?  Please reply even if you are just possibly interested.  Even if you can't help out, you may know who can.  

 

Fall Swim 

  • Don't forget tryouts will be Wednesday, August 28th from 4:00-5:00 for any swimmer who is unsure if they meet the minimum skill and safety requirement.
  • Don't forget that Fall Swim is 100% NON-refundable, with the exception that if you show up to tryouts, and the coaches feel your swimmer is not ready, we will refund your registration fee (minus the $25 bank processing fee).  If you skip tryouts and you find out your swimmer is not ready on the first day of practice, there are no refunds.  
  • Equipment List:  Please come prepared to practice with a cap, goggles, towel, suit, and fins.  All swimmers (including 6/unders who have never had fins before) should have fins.  We have kickboards and a limited number of fins on deck for swimmers to borrow during practice.  Please do not take these items home.  If you have never purchased fins before, here is a link and here is a link.  If your swimmer needs to try them on before purchasing,  the closest swim shops are Elsmore Swim Shop in Walnut Creek and Sports Basement in Walnut Creek.
