Alright team, this is a long one.....

 

League Meet Cover Art Contest

  • Every year the Twin County Swim League hosts an art contest for the front and back cover of the League Meet Program.  The league reps from each team vote for the winning entries. 
  • To be considered in the contest, art should:
    • Represent all teams equally
      • American Canyon Ahi
      • Benicia Stingrays
      • Crockett Crockett-iles
      • Hercules Piranhas
      • Martinez Community Swim Team Otters
      • Pinole Seals
    • Be in Portrait orientation on 8.5 x 11 inch paper
    • Be in color (color pencil, marker, or graffiti marker).  Digital creations are fine but it must be printed out for submission.
  • Submit your entry into the Blankenship Family Folder by Friday, June 30th
  • Front and back cover winners from last year are below for inspiration

East County Invitational:  Saturday, July 8th-Sunday, July 9th

  • ECI is our second main invitational meet of the year (Battle of the Ages is the other).  It is a tie between ECI and Battle with which meet is hotter, longer, results in faster swim times, and is more fun.  These big invitational meets are where lifelong friendships are made because nothing bonds you with fellow swim team families faster than sweating all over each other and eating each other's food all weekend!    
  • Rather than list the entire meet information, please click here for all of the meet details, deadlines, and registration form.
  • Registration for ECI is identical to that for Battle....you must print the form (or pick one up from the pool deck), fill it out, and turn it into the black mailbox on the pool deck. The registration deadline for parents to submit entries is Wednesday, June 28th.   
  • ALL families will be assigned a volunteer job on the days their swimmer participates and this job does not count towards the 4 meet jobs you must fulfill during the regular dual meet season.  ECI will not require a background check as Battle did.  

 

Practice Schedule Update

  • If your 6/Under swimmer is part of the Skates Group, please note (you probably have noted already) that practice is from 11:00-11:45 AM.
  • If your swimmer is 11/12, their swim practice time is from 9:00-10:00, but they will have additional dry land strength training for an additional 15-20 minutes after their in-water swim time (so practice will finish around 10:20). 

 

8/Under Outing

  • Remember that Thursday, June 15th is the 8/Under Tie Dye and Pizza Party from 4:30-6:00 pm. 
  • Location:  Francesca Park in Benicia
  • Bring a white t-shirt to tie-dye and wear old clothes 
  • Parents, DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR CHILD AND RUN AWAY.  If you personally can not stay, make sure a responsible adult is present and in charge of your child.  
  • Make sure to fill out the google form permission slip before showing up
  • Check out the sign-up genius for drinks, ice cream sundae fixings, etc.
