Final League Meet Splash!!!

Benicia Stingrays

Hi Team,

Alright!!!!  It's go time!!!

Below is all of the League Meet info again.  Of note:

  1. Do not set up on Friday night.  We can not set up until Saturday morning!
  2. The meet will likely not start until 9:00 (not 8:30 as in prior years) because there are so many more swimmers compared to last year and there are a larger number of aging-out swimmers to celebrate before the meet begins.
  3. The programs will be $5, CASH ONLY, and they will sell out.  Purchase your program early if you want one.
  4. Do not check in for your job with Jen Smith (as previously splashed).  Check in with Wendy Buresh (one of our two regular volunteer coordinators), near the breakfast table, to confirm your volunteer shift as soon as you arrive at the pool.  No-shows will lose their $100 volunteer deposit on their account and this must be repaid before you can register your swimmer for next season.
  5. Parents are not allowed inside Clerk of the Course or behind the blocks. Do not go behind the blocks to film your swimmer.  Also do not stand in front of the bleachers to block the view of sitting spectators.  Respect the deck marshalls' and any direction they provide you.
  6. We will have a hole puncher and zip ties to attach posters to your tent in camp for all of our 12/unders.

Location:  American Canyon High School, 3000 Newell Drive, American Canyon, 94503

Time:  Gates open at 6:00AM.   If you are stroke and turning at the meet, be listening for the stroke and turn meeting announcement (last year it was at 7:45 AM).  The meet is scheduled to start ~9:00 and end at around 4:30.

Team Camp:  Here is the team camp map.  We get about 1 1/3 basketball courts.  Please be respectful and do not use more than our allotted portion of Ahi's court.

League Meet Power Breakfast:  Please drop off your potluck items at the breakfast table as soon as you arrive at camp.  The tables will be set up in the walkway between the Stingrays and Hercules (HPST) camps.

Warm Ups: Stingrays warmup 7:15-7:30 all lanes

Events:

Coaches will assign swimmers to up to 3 individual events and 2 relays.

For families who have never attended an invitational or League Meet before, the check in process is a little different than for regular dual meets.   Swimmers must check in for their swim about 15-20 minutes before their event at Clerk of the Course (see team camp map).  This means you must be aware of who is currently swimming so you can get your swimmer to Clerk at the appropriate time.  The volunteer parents at Clerk will then guide your swimmer into rows of chairs and have them sit, in order, with their heat, until it is their turn to swim. Parents are not allowed past the check in table at Clerk of the Course (but if you have little ones, you can stand outside the roped off chair area so you can still easily see them).  When it is their turn to swim, the volunteer parents will then guide the swimmers onto the pool deck and get them to the appropriate lane to swim their event.

Volunteer Assignments:  ALL PARTICIPATING FAMILIES (even those that bought out of their regular volunteer jobs, those with only 15/up swimmers, and core/board members) will be assigned a volunteer job.  You must check-in for your volunteer job with Wendy Buresh as soon as you arrive at the pool to confirm that you know your job and shift.

Programs:  No meet sheet is emailed out; the program is available for purchase for $5 the morning of the meet.  CASH ONLY.  The meet is also available on the Meet Mobile downloadable app (for a small annual fee).

Food: There will be a variety of food trucks present

T-shirts:  Shirts/Sweatshirts will be available for purchase and airbrush tattoos will be available as well.

Swim Marshalls:  A friendly reminder regarding safety at League Meet: Parents, please respect the Marshalls at the meet.  The Marshalls are parent volunteers placed throughout the meet so that the swimmers can get to/from the blocks in a timely and safe manner.  They direct parent traffic so that all parents enter and exit the pool deck in one direction.  They are also stationed in fire lanes and by the bleachers to ensure that no one is standing in front of the bleachers impeding vision of those in the bleachers.  Parents are not allowed behind the blocks.  Please treat the Marshalls with respect and understand that they are just completing their assigned job.
