Stingray County Reminders and then County Meet Update
Benicia Stingrays
Hi County Families!
First a few reminders:
- Tomorrow is breakfast at One House Bakery after practice. Remember to send your swimmer with some money to purchase breakfast with the team.
- Don't forget to have clean car windows and leave your car in the driveway for the coaches and Knight Rays to decorate your windows on Friday evening. Make sure Coach Mariska knows which car to decorate if there are multiple in the driveway.
- As you will see in the email I am cutting and pasting from County (along with the team camp map attachment), we are allotted space for only two tents for our entire team. We are in the waaaayyyy back corner of the grassy field. The Smith and Ambrose families will bring their tents so that we can all crash in them. The Magnos will bring a third tent and set it up after the fact if we have extra space. You can bring a tent in case we have extra space (the map does show empty space around us, but there will be limited space to store it) or you can just bring a chair and crash in the 2-3 tents that will be open to all of the Stingrays for the duration of the weekend. Camp quarters are typically pretty tight for this meet with 51 teams in attendance.
- Coach Mariska would like to shoot for a 7:45 AM warmup time. There are no assigned lanes for warmups so it is controlled chaos trying to find a place to warmup.
- Apparrel does go on sale tomorrow afternoon. They will also sell it over the course of the weekend at the meet, but they do become limited in size fairly early on.
Here is the most updated info cut and pasted from County Meet:
TIMING LANE ASSIGNMENTS WILL COME OUT HOPEFULLY LATER TONIGHT-
We are still shuffling things around with late Officials who have volunteered. These will be distributed by 7am tomorrow morning at the latest.
Attached are the following:
TEAM AREA MAP-Here is the link to the camp map
We have assigned team areas for all 51 teams (the first time we have tried this). However, for this to work, we must have the teams who are given early team area setup come first. They have been assigned to spots that will allow for a smoother setup of areas for all teams. Each team is designated a certain number of 10' x 10' tents. We have these arranged side by side with walkways on either side of them. This has worked out well in the past, but we can't have everyone come at the same time. If everyone follows directions, teams may drive into the back area of the school (enter by the tennis courts on the north side of campus) and drop your tents off. If all 50 teams try to do this at once, it won't work.
TEAMS WHO HAVE PROVIDED MEET OFFICIALS OR STROKE AND TURN JUDGES:
You may setup in your team area beginning at 12:00pm on Friday. You don't need to be there right at 12pm, but ideally you get there before the next wave at 1:00pm.
ALL OTHER TEAMS:
You may come at 1:00pm or later, but please pay attention to the map and the rows that have already been established when you get there.
TIMELINE:
Saturday and Sunday session reports show the approximate time for all events. There are things that may delay this, such as swim-offs or other unforeseen events. However, the warmups for the PM sessions will not begin before 12pm either day (if you want to tell your relay swimmers), and the PM sessions will not begin before 1:15PM both days.
Here is the
Saturday/Sunday AM schedule and the
Saturday/Sunday PM Schedule.
