Stingray Registration Opens on Thursday, February 1st
Hi Team,
This is just a reminder that Early Bird Registration, which is open to returning families only, begins on Thursday, February 1st. Regular registration, which is open to returning AND new families, opens on Friday, February 16th.
Register during Early Bird to save $50 per swimmer!
Please note that the 6/under age group is limited to 30 swimmers. Once it is full, we can not add additional 6/under swimmers. The entire team is limited to 165 swimmers so make sure to register early to guarantee your spot on the team.
6 and Under swimmers should be comfortable putting their face in the water and floating on their front and back. Needing some floating assistance is fine, but they should be willing to at least try.
Practice and Meet Schedule
- The practice and meet schedules can be found on the website under the Team Info Tab, subcategory 2024 Season Calendar. Here is a direct link to the schedule.
- As this is a competitive swim team, we expect swimmers to participate in meets and ask that all swimmers be committed to swimming at our League Championship Meet on Saturday, July 27th. Please arrange your summer vacations such that you will be present at League Champs. If you expect your swimmer will qualify to County Championships, this will take place on August 3rd-4th.
Registration Fees
- Early Bird Registration
- 14 and Under: $425 per swimmer
- 15/Up: $250 per swimmer
- Regular Registration
- 14 and Under: $475 per swimmer
- 15/up: $250 per swimmer
- Save $35 per sibling after the first full price registration for your family
Volunteer Requirement
- The basic volunteer requirement will be the same as last year (4 dual meet volunteer jobs and 2 social volunteer jobs for all non-core volunteers/non-board members).
- If you ONLY have a 15/up swimmer, you do not have a volunteer requirement for regular meets (you do for invitationals, League Champs, etc). If you have a 15/up AND a younger swimmer, you do have a volunteer requirement.
- If your swimmer participates in any of the invitational meets or League Championship Meet, these meets have an additional/separate volunteer requirement above and beyond the basic volunteer requirement (these jobs are assigned, you do not sign up for them).
- You will be able to register for your volunteer hours as soon as you receive your registration confirmation email (typically 48-72 hours after you complete the registration process).
- The meet volunteer jobs are fully posted. Some of the social jobs are posted and the rest will be posted as the season progresses and the social event details are solidified.
- Here is the direct link to the volunteer info page on the website. There is a section in this link for how to sign up for volunteer jobs if you have never done so.
- If you know you will not be fulfilling your volunteer requirement, you may "buy out" of your volunteer requirement for $500 during the registration process. This fulfills your basic volunteer requirement. If your swimmer participates in an invitational meet or League Champs, you must still fulfill a volunteer job at these meets.
Volunteer Deposit *New Info*
- The majority of returning families have a $100 volunteer deposit on file. This carries over from season to season so you only need to pay it the very first time you register. It is refundable to you once you officially withdraw from the team. Returning families who have only previously participated in Fall Swim, families who lost their volunteer deposit last year and have yet to repay it, and a small handful of families who registered last year without paying their volunteer deposit during registration will need to pay this season's volunteer deposit during registration.
- Due to the large number of no-shows last season, we are forced to increase the volunteer deposit to $150. Returning families who already have $100 on file will not be asked to pay the $50 difference during registration. We will just work with the $100 deposit we have on record. Any new deposits to be put down will be charged at the $150 rate.
- This season, the no-show fee (missing a volunteer job you committed to) is increasing from $100 to $150.
- If you no-show for a volunteer job, your $150 deposit will be taken from your account and you must replenish it before your swimmer can participate in future practices or meets.
- If, during the season, a family with a $100 volunteer deposit on file loses their deposit (for a no-show volunteer job), they will lose their $100 deposit, they must pay the $50 difference to equal the $150 no-show fee AND they must then put down $150 to replenish their lost volunteer deposit. All of this must occur before your swimmer can return to practice or meets.
If you have questions regarding volunteer requirements, please email Wendy Buresh, volunteer coordinator, at volunteer@bsrswim.org
GOOOOOO Stingrays! We will be back in the water in no time!!!
