Season Opening Day, Practice Schedule Change, Season Opening Party, Stroke and Turn Judges Still Needed!!!
Hi Stingray Family!
It's finally here--the start of our new season!!!!
Our season will open on Monday, March 31st. Please give yourself plenty of time to park and arrive with your swimmer in their suit, cap, and goggles, ready to go 5 minutes before their practice time starts. Don't forget a towel and fins if you have them.
For new families, you do not need to check in at the desk, you can just walk in and immediately enter the locker rooms to the pool.
For Spring, the schedule is:
- Monday through Thursday
- 6/unders: 4:30-5:00 pm
- 7/8: 5:00-5:45 pm
- 9/10: 5:45-6:45 pm
- 11-18: 6:30-7:30 pm
- No practice for Spring Break, Monday, April 14th-Thursday, April 17th (practice will resume on Monday, April 21st).
The first week of practice is always a little chaotic as kids are sorted into appropriate practice groups and lanes. The coaches have a lot of kids to organize! We will also be sharing the pool with the high school team until 5:30pm through the end of their season at the beginning of May. Once the swimmers get into the flow of practice, everything will quickly smooth out.
Practice Schedule Change
- Please note that the after-school swim schedule will go through Tuesday, June 10th. Coach Steve teaches in a different district and they have a few extra days of school compared to our district.
- There will be no practice on Wednesday, June 11th as we will have an afternoon meet that day.
- Morning practices will begin on Thursday, June 12th.
Season Opening Party
- Save the date for our season opening party on Sunday, April 27th from 11am to 1pm at the Southampton Swim Club!
- This is an opportunity for you to meet the coaches and board members, have fun, and get questions answered.
- Please visit our SignUp Genius to RSVP how many members from your family will attend (all family are invited) and sign up to donate an item for the party. Donuts will be provided and you can bring a picnic lunch for your family. Your RSVP will help us plan how many donuts to purchase!
- This party is also your first opportunity to sign up for a social volunteer job (you must fulfill two social jobs over the season unless you are a core volunteer or board member).
- How to sign up to work a dual meet or volunteer job: First log in to the website. Click on the “Events and Meets” tab at the top of the page. The meets and events will then be listed. Find the meet/event you are interested in volunteering for. Click the “Job Signup” button and select your shift(s). Make sure to save your selection at the bottom of the page.
- As always, if you sign up and miss a shift without notice, your $150 volunteer deposit will be taken from your account and it must be re-paid before your swimmer can participate. If an emergency comes up, you must email volunteer@bsrswim.org to avoid losing your $150.
Stroke and Turn Judges
- We still need a few more families to commit to Stroke and Turn Judging for the season. If you can, please reply to this email and plan to attend Stroke and Turn training at American Canyon High School on Saturday, April 26th from 8:00-11:30am.
Meet Director Opening
- We also still need a meet director shadow this year to learn the job. Our goal is that you shadow Leslie Clements this year to take over the position next year.
- This is a board position and you should be an organized and reliable person to take over this job.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email us:
