Contra Costa County Championship Meet

Benicia Stingrays

Congratulations!  Your swimmer has met the very difficult time standards and qualified to County!!!!   County is one of the largest summer rec swim meets in the country and so many of our swimmers try so hard and never qualify.  It is a huge honor that your swimmer has made it!!!  Please read all the information below to stay informed about upcoming events, requirements, and other important details.

County Practice Schedule is Monday - Friday:

  • 9/ups:  9:00-10:30 AM
  • 8/unders: 10:30-11:30 AM

County Meet

Date

  • Saturday, August 2nd - Sunday, August 3rd

Location

  • Acalanes High School, 1200 Pleasant Hill Road, Lafayette

Team Camp/Setup

  • Team camp info will be sent out as it becomes available.
  • Because John Freytag and Gabe Salindong have volunteered to judge, we will have a small reserved area that will likely fit four tents.  THANK YOU JOHN AND GABE!!!
  • Because we are providing officials, we will also be allowed early camp setup on Friday, August 2nd.  The exact time and location of our camp will be released mid week.  If any County Parents are available on Friday to set up four Stingray pop-up tents around 1:00pm at Acalanes High School, the team will be very grateful!!!  If we don't set up early, our space will likely be taken over by other teams.  The tents are heavy and big so it is always helpful if at least two parents help out with this task.

Parking

  • Free parking is available in the high school parking lot and surrounding neighborhood street parking.  The regular lot fills up fairly early in the morning.  If you come for morning warmups, you can usually get regular free parking in the lot. If you arrive later in the day, nearby parking is difficult to come by.
  • VIP parking will be for sale on Monday, July 28th at 8:00pm at https://contracostacountymeet.com/  It will sell out early.

Entries and Fees

  • Each swimmer is limited to two individual events and two relays.  Even if a swimmer is County Qualified in all events, they must select the two individual events (and two relays, if qualified) in which they wish to compete.
  • The team will cover all meet fees for individual swimmers and relays.
  • If your swimmer has qualified in more than 2 individual events, make sure you and your swimmer are prepared to tell Coach Steve which events they want to swim this Monday. He must submit all entries by Monday afternoon.  He will discuss with you at practice on Monday.

12&Under Tech Suit Rules:

  • County follows all USA Swimming guidelines for tech suits for 12/under swimmers.
  • Make sure your 12/under swimmer is in a legal suit for their age.
