Weekend Updates: Welcome Party and 50:50 Raffle, PG&E Employees, Shed Painting, Lapapalooza Date Change

Welcome Party

  • We will see you all tomorrow from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at James Lemos for our Kick Off Party!  
  • Come for free donuts, shared snacks, and open swim!
  • Meet the coaches and board!  We are all there to help you and your swimmer have a fantastic season so please don't be scared to say hi and introduce yourself.  
  • Volunteer Questions:  
    • ​We get it!  Volunteering can be intimidating at first, but we all have to do it!  Did you know that it takes more than 50 volunteers to make each swim meet function smoothly?  
    • At every home meet, our two volunteer coordinators, Wendy Buresh and Krista Heredia, are on the cement where the two legs of the grass "L" come together.  They will be set up there tomorrow, so swing by to say hi and learn about all things volunteer!  If you don't know what to sign up for or how to sign up, they will be there to walk you through everything! 
  • If you still want to donate an item to share, please visit our sign up genius.
  • 50:50 Raffle
    • Bring those dolla bills yall!  
    • Each ticket costs $1 (cash) and the winner gets half of all sales!

 

Any PG and E Employees???

  • Mike Barnum, PG&E employee and proud Stingray parent, informed us that PG&E employees AND retirees (come on, we know there are retired PG&E grandparents) can obtain donations from PG&E for the non-profits of their choice (and the Stingrays are a non-profit!)
  • If you or your retired PG&E family members are willing to help out, please reply to this email.  Our fundraising coordinators and Mike can walk you through the steps of fundraising for the Stingrays.  It isn't hard, and we won't ask you to do anything you are not comfortable doing (we mostly need to use your name.)

 

Any House Painters???

  • Our team shed needs a new coat of paint. 
  • Do we have any parents who are in painting, construction, etc who can throw on a quick coat of paint to our shed?  Volunteer hours will be awarded, and we will pay for the paint!

 

Lapapalooza

  • This is our biggest fundraiser of the year
  • Save The Date:  Please note the date has changed to Thursday, June 25th, during practice.
  • Swimmers obtain pledges and swim as many laps as possible to raise money and earn fun prizes!
  • We will need lap counters, snack servers, etc so please sign up for a volunteer shift once they are posted.  This will fulfill  one of your two social volunteer requirements.
