Time Trials Meet Info!
Time Trials is a Stingrays-only meet. Swimmers will swim in all individual events they are capable of (coaches' discretion). This event will give the swimmers their seed times for the season. There are no relays or opposing teams at Time Trials.
Location: James Lemos Pool
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Time
- Gates Open at 7:30 AM. Please line up at the main entrance to the pool. Please do NOT enter through the side gates or before 7:30 unless you are part of the set-up and take-down crew.
- If you are part of set-up/takedown crew, arrive at 6:30 AM and enter through the side gate (in the parking lot). Check in with Kimberly Kemp, Meet Director, upon your arrival. For safety reasons, children are not allowed on deck until the lifeguards have removed the tarps from the pools. Do not bring your children for setup unless you plan to leave them in the car until the tarps have been removed.
- Warmups 8:00 AM.
- Meet Starts 8:30 AM, Meet ends ~12:00 pm
Team Camp
- Set up on either leg of the grass "L" for Time Trials only. For future meets, Stingrays set up on the north end of the grass only (long leg of the "L"), and the visiting team gets the short leg of the "L". Do not set up on the pool deck (cement).
- The grass will be wet in the morning, and it will be cold for the swimmers. Suggested items to bring can include tarps/blankets for the ground, WARM clothes/parkas/sweats, personal chairs (the pool's plastic chairs cannot be moved to the grass), games/books to occupy swimmers between events, sunblock, back up goggles and swim cap, sharpie to mark up your swimmer, printed copy of the meet sheet with a highlighter, and plenty of towels (one towel will not be enough as some of the swimmers will be in and out of the water 5-6 times over the day).
Volunteers
- Check in with Wendy Buresh and Krista Heredia at the volunteer check-in table (on the pool deck, where the two legs of the grass "L" intersect) to get credit for your shift and for job direction by 8:00AM. Failure to show up for your assigned job results in your credit card on file being charged $150 for the missed shift.
- Our snack bar will be open
- A food truck will be on the street (find it by going through the back gate behind the volunteer tent)
- Jamba Juice will be there
Meet Sheet: This will be emailed to you the night before the meet. This tells you what events your swimmer is competing, which heat, and which lanes.
- Click the link for how to read a meet sheet
- Don't forget a sharpie marker so you can mark your swimmer's arm with their event/heat/lane assignments.
Parents, we rely on you to help us get your swimmers to where they need to be on time. For the 8/unders, please look for the shepherds, who will start gathering the swimmers by age group/gender about 15 minutes before their event is ready to start. The shepherds will collect the swimmers just past lane 8 on the side of the pool opposite the starting blocks.
- 6/Under Boy Shepherd: Allison Hernandez and Kathrina Roldan (Kathrina is temporary until we find a permanent 6/under parent to step up into this role)
- 6/Under GIrl Shepherd: Heather Reyes and Sandra Ochs
- 7/8 Boys Shepherd: Della Olm and Spencer/Janelle Kettrick
- 7/8 Girls Shepherd: Monica Carlisle and Lesley Moa-Langi
For 9/ups, there are no shepherds. Parents and swimmers are responsible for getting the swimmers to the blocks on time. Please make sure your swimmer heads over to the blocks when the age group before them is starting their swims, so that they are ready to go when their group is up.
If you have questions, look for board members in our Board Member shirts. We want to help you!
