NewsSplash: Family Fun Night, ECI Registration Deadline, July 3rd Parade

Benicia Stingrays

Great job at our home meet versus Martinez last night!  Meet Director Kim, Starter Janice, and Announcer Marissa kept things rolling, and we got through as much as we possibly could!  Thank you again to Sandoval's Restaurant and the Appiano family for donating the delicious burritos to our snack bar last night!  We will have both burritos and spam musubi at our next evening home meet on July 8th.  Get them early before we sell out!

Lapapalooza

Thank you to Grandma Jeanne Woodford and Andrea Meaders (Josilyn and Taylor's mom) for organizing Lapapalooza.  These two ladies fundraise year-round so that we can pay our coaches, keep our equipment up to date, and have the best-looking pool deck in our league for meets!  Thank you, Carquinez Dental, for the goodie bags and for sponsoring Lapaplooza!

July 3rd Torchlight Parade

****It may be HOT, have your kids wear cool clothes, sunblock, and wear a hat***

  • Benicia's Torchlight Parade is Friday, July 3rd. Please arrive by 6:00 pm (exact meet-up location will not be available until the end of the week). Parade starts promptly at 6:30 PM.  Give yourself plenty of time to park and walk to our meet-up spot.
  • All volunteers check in with Chelsea Whitney and Audrey Vargas BEFORE the parade starts.  All no-shows will have $150 charged to the credit card on file
  • Our exact entry number and location in the lineup will be released at the end of the week.
  • If you are a wagon puller, please bring your own wagon. If possible, decorate it with red, white, and blue or Stingrays' gear.  You will pull our water and candy.
  • Wear festive clothes and Stingrays' gear.
  • We will have a limited amount of candy to pass out to the crowd. You are welcome to bring your own candy to add to the stash.
  • Candy needs to be handed to parade watchers; absolutely no throwing allowed. If we are caught throwing anything, we will be disqualified and asked to leave the parade. Parents, please remind kids of this.
  • Please keep 20 feet between the group in front of us.
  • At the end of the parade, the team will disperse. There is no organized meeting place at the end, so if you are not walking with your child, have a plan for where to meet.  Coaches and volunteers are not responsible for your kids at the end of the parade. The parade finishes right before we reach Military (near the gazebo).
  •  We will have the big kids carrying the Stingray and sponsor banners. Be sure we all stay behind the main Stingrays' banner.
  • If you skip the parade, you miss out on opportunities like this to take photos of your little Stingrays before they become big Stingrays, like Coaches Evan and Ava!
