FIRST, make sure you are registered for our last dual meet against Crockett and, most importantly, for League Championship Meet!  The deadline is TOMORROW.  This is your last reminder to register for League Champs!

Nothing is worse than getting the school Spirit Week email in your inbox on the Sunday before it all begins.  Well, the Stingrays are better than that!  So that you can plan, here are our practice plans for the next two weeks!

 

Little Rays

  • ​Next Friday, July 17th, is the last day of practice for our Little Rays.  We hope our littlest Stingrays enjoyed getting their feet wet on swim team, and we would love to welcome you back next season on the competitive team! 
  • Thank you to our volunteer junior coaches: Maddy, Autumn, Lucy, Nate, Apollo, Kieran, Josilyn, and Jack, who stepped up and helped out with this group of kids!  A special thank you to Coach Ava for overseeing this program.  It's been great having Ava back on the pool deck!  

 

Drag Week:  Monday, July 13th - Friday, July 17th

  • Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th is Drag Week!
  • Swimmers should wear a t-shirt during practice.  This will create resistance through the water and make practice more challenging.  When it is the week of League, they will remove their shirts, and everything will feel so fast and easy!
  • Pack a t-shirt in their swim bags that can go in the water!  

 

Spirit Week:  Monday, July 20th - Friday, July 24th

  • Welcome to Spirit Week--the week where we thank our coaches, celebrate our swimmers, and get HYPED for League Championship Meet!!!  Every day of Spirit Week has a different theme.  Here are the themes for Monday, July 20th - Friday, July 24th
    • Monday - Stingrays Swag! - Wear your best Stingrays' gear 
    • Tuesday - Tutu-Tuesday - wear your cutest, craziest tutu or whatever your own version of a tutu is!
    • Wednesday - Wild Wednesday - show us your wild side by dressing like your favorite animal. 
    • Thursday - Thirsty Thursday!! You should be HYDRATING like crazy this week in prep for league! Show us your most FAVORITE Water bottle! 
    • Friday - Dress like a coach day!! 

 

Coaches' Appreciation:  Tuesday, July 21st - Thursday, July 23rd

  • We also use the last week of regular practice to acknowledge and thank our coaches for all of their hard work this season! 
  • From Tuesday, July 21st, through Thursday, July 23rd, we will have a table with individual bags for each coach.  You may (you do not have to!) place a small gift, gift card, or thank you card in the coaches' bags.  It does not have to cost money!  Often, the most appreciated gifts are the heartfelt notes and drawings from our littlest Stingrays!  I know firsthand that the junior coaches save every drawing and note they have ever been gifted!!   
  • Remember that items will be left in their bags for several days in the heat.  Home-baked goods and chocolates are appreciated, but they do not hold up!  
  • Our adult coaching staff:  Coach Steve, Coach Miguel, Coach Karissa, Coach Alyssa, Coach Ava, and Coach Jess.  
  • Our junior coaching staff:  Claire, Evan, Ava, Conor, Caden, Amelee, Val, Ellie
  • Our volunteer junior coaching staff: Maddy, Autumn, Lucy, Nate, Apollo, Kieran, Josilyn, and Jack

 

County Practice

  • ​For our County Qualifying relays and individual swimmers, practice will continue for one week beyond League Championships.  
  • The County practice schedule will be announced in the future.
