Photo Slideshow

  • Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4th, is the deadline to submit your season's photos to Ellen Hall for the Awards Ceremony Photo Slideshow.
  • Please upload your pictures to the shared Google Drive.
  • If you have questions, reach out to Ellen directly at ellemeno@gmail.com

Volunteer

  • Sign up for volunteer jobs as you would for any other meet or event.  This is your last chance to get credit for a social volunteer job.  All volunteers please check in with our volunteer coordinators.  Failure to check-in and fulfill your shift will result in your credit card on file being charged $150.

Format:

  • We are trying something new with our ceremony this year.  We ask that all swimmers sit by age group (6/under girls, then 6/under boys, 7/8 girls, etc).  Having the kids organized should speed up the ceremony.  With each group, we will have 1-2 coaches to try to keep the kids focused and attentive.  We want to limit kids running to the back of the Clocktower and racing around during the ceremony.  Please discuss proper ceremony behavior with your kiddos before arriving.
  • Every child will be called on stage to shake the coaches' hands.  As long as you opted in, your swimmer will receive a bag with their PR plaque.  The coaches will also announce winners of the individual trophies for selected categories.  Remember that only the High Point (MVP) for each age group is skill based.  All other awards typically do not go to the fastest swimmer in the age group.  Most improved goes to the swimmer who, by computer calculations, has made the greatest percentage improvement over the season.  The hustler award goes to the swimmer who shows up consistently, always tries their hardest, has the best attitude, cheers on their teammates, etc.  The Awards Ceremony is a chance to celebrate ALL Stingray accomplishments over the entire season.  We do want to acknowledge our record breakers, high point scorers, and County Qualifiers.  These swimmers have put in the work and they deserve recognition for their accomplishments.  AND, we recognize and celebrate ALL of our  swimmers and families for the hard work they put in over the Spring and Summer season.

Snack-atizers

  • We are changing it up this year and switching from the ice cream sundae bar to a snack-atizer bar.  It's lunch time and these are more filling snacks and easier to clean up after!
  • If you would like to contribute an easy to eat finger food, to add to our table of snack-atizers, sign up for an item and write in what you would like to bring.  A few ideas would be: mini corn dogs, lumpia, pizza rolls, taquitos, quesadillas, etc.  The less mess the better.  This is not a sit down lunch--we want snacks that do not require silverware.

Do not bring anything with nuts. We have peanut allergic swimmers on the team!

At the end of the ceremony, please take home your disposable or non-disposable containers and leftover food that you provided. Whatever is left behind will get thrown away.  We will not hold on to any food or containers.  Help us clear the tables and take everything (even an empty aluminum tray) with you as you walk out the doors.
