Awards Ceremony and Unclaimed Lapapalooza Prizes

  • Reminder that the Awards Ceremony is Sunday, August 30th from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • If your swimmer has an unclaimed Lapapalooza prize, we will have these prizes at the Awards Ceremony.  Please see Andrea Meaders.
  • If you still want to sign up to donate a snackatizer, please visit our signup genius.
  • If you are able to volunteer, we are short set up and take down folks. Please visit the event info page to sign up for a job. Even if you have already completed your volunteer requirement for the season, we would greatly appreciate your help.
  • Remember that we are trying somthing a little bit different this year. When you arrive and are getting seated, please help your swimmer find their age group to sit with.  We are hoping that by keeping all of the swimmers together by age, we can make the ceremony go a little bit smoother and faster.  Once your swimmer is seated, you can find your own seating with the rest of your family. 

 

Open Board Positions

  • Some of us on the board are getting a little long in the tooth.  We need to find replacements as 2 of us are going into year 11 serving the board, and our kids are quickly aging off of the team.  One of us is not so long in the tooth, but is coaching water polo and needs more time to dedicate to coaching.  We are looking for a Communication Director Shadow for the 2027 season (to fully take over for the 2028 season) a Social Director, and an Invitational Coordinator.

Open Board Meetings

  • We have decided that from this point forward, most board meetings will be open to the general membership.  We want parents to feel connected, know what it takes for this swim team to successfully function, and have a bigger say in the team.  The open portion of the meeting will be first.  If we have closed door items, we will dismiss the general membership and proceed with closed door items after that.  
  • The board meetings occur monthly at 6:30 PM at the Benicia Community Center.
  • The upcoming board meetings are:
    • Wednesday, September 16:  Open to the public
    • Wednesday, October 14:  Open to the public
    • Thursday, November 12:  Closed to the public
    • December:  No meeting
  • If you would like to attend, just show up.  No RSVP required!

 

Fall Swim

  • Fall Swim starts next week!  Here is the schedule:
    • Dates:  Tuesday September 1st - Thursday, October 22nd.  Practice occurs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
    • 6 & unders: 4:30-5:15
    • 7-10 year olds:  4:30-5:30
    • 11 & ups:  5:30-6:30
      • Swimmers who will swim with the 11/12 group in the 2027 season (those who swam as 10 year olds this summer season) will practice with the 11 and up group during Fall swim.
    • During the last week of Fall Swim, the pool will close at 6:00 pm.  Adjustments will be made to our practice schedule to accommodate the early pool closure.  
    • Save the date for Sunday, October 25th.  This is our 3rd annual Monster Splash Invitational.  Registration is included with your Fall Swim registration fees.  If your swimmer is not participating in Fall Swim, they can still register for Monster Splash with a small registration fee.  

 

2027 Meet Schedule

  • So that you can plan your summer accordingly, we have the 2027 Meet Schedule!
  • The meets are subject to change, but this gives you a pretty good idea for the upcoming summer season.  
  • Please do not go on vacation or make plans on Saturday, July 24th.  This is League Champs and we want all swimmers to be present.  If your swimmer plans on qualifying for County Champs, then make sure you are in town on Saturday, July 31-Sunday August 1 as well.  
  • We have added a few new meets so our meet schedule is jam packed for 2027!!!

 

Bingo at The Chill--Save The Date!!!

  • Bingo at The Chill on Sunday, September 13th is a fun adults only fundraiser for the team!  What better way to spend a few hours than sipping wine and winning fun prizes?!
