Monster Splash Volunteer Jobs

  • Once we have an idea of the number of swimmers participating, we will assign volunteer jobs.  
  • We do know that we need a Benicia Stingray snackboard coordinator on the day of the meet. The shopping/ordering will be in advance done for you.  We just need someone on the day of to oversee the snack bar with your snack bar volunteer helpers.  If you are interested in snackbar coordinator serving as your volunteer job for the day, please reply to this email.

 

Unclaimed End of Season PR Plaques

  • We have MANY unclaimed PR plaques for swimmers who did not attend the Awards Ceremony.  Remember that you opted in to receive a plaque, so the team paid for these plaques to be made for your swimmer. 
  • PLEASE pick up your plaque during Fall Swim practice on Tuesdays -Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 PM, or let us know if you need other arrangements to be made.  Any board member on deck can get the plaque for you from the shed.  We do not have the shed capacity to store these plaques indefinitely. 

 

Open Board Jobs

  • Thank you to Kathrina Roldan for stepping up to be our Social Director!  If anyone knows how to plan a party, it is Kathrina!  
  • We still have 3 open board positions we need to fill
    • ​Co-League Rep, to partner with Christina Mills-Gelardin (Sage's mom).  You will attend monthly year-round League Rep meetings (with Pinole, Ahi, Hercules, and Crockett), and attend weekly meetings leading up to League Champs to smoothly run League Champs meet.  
    • Invitational Coordinator, to replace Jennifer Smith (Claire, Conor, and Kieran's mom).  You will work closely with Coach Steve to communicate with the host teams, manage Stingray registrations, and manage Stingray volunteer commitments for our Invitational Meets (Otters 8/under, Battle of the Ages, ECI, County, and new this year Gehringer Medieval Madness).  Jennifer is still around this year to help train you.  
    • Communication Director, to partner with Jill Magno (Evan's mom) for 2026-2027, with the intent to take over for the 2028 spring/summer season.  You will update the Stingray website as needed, reply to all general emails, and generate team NewsSplashes, which are critical to keep families updated through the year.  You will form close relationships with all of the coaches and board members.  You should be organized and able to stay on top of your emails.  If you can type, you have enough technical skills to handle this job.  
    • If you want the Stingrays to function smoothly in the upcomiong years, it is best to step up this year while Jennifer and Jill are still around to train you.  Evan and the Smith kids are all aging off of the team in the next 1-2 years so it is critical we find folks to replace us!
