Stroke and Turn Email
Hi Stroke and Turn Families!
Thank you for signing up for the Stroke and Turn Clinic, scheduled on Saturday, April 22nd from 9:30am - 12:30pm.
The Clinic will be held at 2001 Refugio Valley Road, Hercules. There will be a Hercules Piranhas flag outside the pressroom and we will all just meet at the clinic. Here is the Stroke and Turn Clinic Flyer.
The team's goal for the clinic is to get enough of our regular parents certified so that we can cover all of our regular season meets. We have numerous board members and core volunteers also getting certified to serve as backup and to help cover stroke and turn positions at our invitational meets.
As Stroke and Turn Judges, you will report to Meet Director Leslie Clements and Head Stroke and Turn Judge John Freytag. Both Leslie and John are veteran Stingray parents who should be able to answer the majority of your questions. Their emails are meetdirector@bsrswim.org and strokeandturn@bsrswim.org
I plan to RSVP to the clinic for:
Board Member/Core Volunteer Families of: Leslie Clements, Colin Buresh, Geoff Cagnon, Robin Matias, Jill Magno, Duane Magno, Emie Ambrose, and Chris Ambrose.
Regular Stingray Families of: David Patten, Brian Spirou, Geoff Rice, Sarah Sumibcay, Garret Thomsen.
Lainey Braatz, Kathleen Sauter, and John Freytag (our Head Stroke and Turn Judge) are also signed up to Stroke and Turn for the team, but will not be at the clinic because of prior S&T experience and work commitments.
John has sent me links to the attached videos. It may help to preview these videos before the clinic if you have time. If not, these things should be covered at the clinic.
If you were not already aware, Stroke and Turn Judging is considered a Core Volunteer Job. This means that if you fulfill your duties as a Stroke and Turn Judge at assigned meets, you are not required to volunteer at any social events for the season!
